Hannah Montana Concert

The girls and I were fortunate to go to the Hannah Montana Concert on Saturday October 27th. The previous week I heard that they were opening a new night, and so I talked with Madisyn's friends mom and we decided to go for it when the tickets opened up and surprise our girls. Unfortunately the tickets sold out faster then I could get through on the computer. (I refused to pay scalpers prices). Jessica's mom made it through though. I thought we were out of luck, but then Tuesday when I went to check the weather for Maddy I noticed on KSL.com that 1600 more tickets would be coming up for sale at 10 a.m. I practiced my mouse button skills and was prepared for when 10 a.m. hit. I didn't know where the tickets would be located so I went for the best available seats. I tried a few times and it said non were available. Then I gave another try and 3 seats popped up. I was in utter shock. Of course it was the higher price tickets. I wasn't sure what to do (you only have 2 minutes to decide) so I called my mom (she was buying the tickets for the girls). I went for it because I knew I would get another chance.
To surprise the girls I left a note in their lunch box saying they had a mission when they got home to find more clues to their Christmas present. When I picked them up for school there was a clue telling them they needed to do their music practice and then they would get their next clue. It was a busy afternoon with the primary practice, piano lessons and parent teacher conference, so it was 7:30 before we got home. The final clue told them to find a ball of string and start rolling it up. Once they went to several rooms rolling it up they found a large box wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper. After opening it they had to dig through cans of soup and grocery bags to find the hidden note telling them of their present. Here is video, although Daryl stopped filming to early. I think they were in denial and it took a few minutes before the screaming started. Madisyn's first concern was if we had a ticket for Jessica, but I told her she was taken care of.

We had a great time at the concert. It was really loud, but also very well done. My girls were pretty reserved compared to all of the screaming girls, but I did catch Madisyn singing along and tapping her foot. During the intermission between the Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana we noticed people looking to a spot on the floor. It happened to be the whole cast of Hannah Montana (minus Billy Ray). It was hard to see them because we were on the opposite end of the arena. I put a few pictures in a scrapbook to share. I didn't end up with too many good because the wait time between me pushing the button on my camera to the camera actually going off is an eternity (actually only about 3-4 seconds but it seems like an eternity). It was just enough time for Hannah/Miley to turn her head or for the glow stick girl in front of me to have her arm in the way. (This girl seriously waved her arm back and forth with glow stick in hand through the whole concert). The girls really had fun. Before we left for the concert Madisyn said "I've never seen anyone famous before". I tried to remind her of the time President Hinkley came to dedicate our stake center in Eagle Mountain, but I guess that is not considered famous.

Thanks! Took a lot of brainpower to come up with it. That was harder than creating the cards.
