I promised Jill I would put my roll recipe on the blog. I will add my apple pie as well (which is a mix of a costco recipe and my mom's apple crisp recipe). Happy eating!
Basic Roll Dough
2 1/4 tsp. yeast
1 egg
1/4 cup warm water
1 tsp. salt
1 cup milk, scalded
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup margarine
3 1/2 cups flour
Soften yeast in warm water. Combine milk, sugar, butter* and salt. Cool milk to lukewarm. Add 1 1/2 cups flour. Beat well. Beat in yeast and egg. Gradually add remaining flour to form soft dough, beating well. Let sit for 1 hour. Shape into balls (18-24) and set in greased pan. Let rise until double, 30-45 minutes. Bake at 375 for 12-15 minutes. Cook on bottom rack so the bottoms can brown too.
*I put the milk and butter together in a microwave safe dish and cook in the microwave for 2 minutes. It scalds the milk and melts the butter.
Apple Pie
(enough for two pies)
2 crusts (I cheat and buy the dough premade in the pie tin, Walmart's Great Value makes an excellent crust).
Filling:
8 apples peeled and sliced (any kind, I use fuji because they are sweet)
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp. Lemon juice
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground allspice
Peel, core and cut the apples into 1/4-1/2-inch slices. Place in a bowl and toss with remaining ingredients. Turn fruit mixture, including juices, into pie shells and mound slightly in center.
Topping:
1 cup flour
1 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 cup margarine
Mix topping together really well with fork. Keep mixing until it look a slightly moist and not dry. (about 5 minutes) Sprinkle over apples.
Bake at375 for 30-45 minutes (bake until juices bubble and crust is deep golden brown. Cool to almost room temperature, at least 4 hours.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love when you ask someone for a recipe and they actually share it with you! I am especially grateful for your tips on what you do. I will post my recipe later tonight or tomorrow (depending on when I have the time). I have to sneak in the computer time whenever I can, but it doesn't always last long.:(
I made these last night. Yum-o!
