Softball

I managed to get a few pictures at Madisyn's softball game last night, although they are a bit blurry since I was playing around with some of the buttons. Also, please don't mind the fence, it wouldn't show up in my LCD before I took the picture. I have to say it was quite the brutal game. The pitcher from the other team threw fast, and she has a tendency to hit the batters. At one point she had to stop pitching because she had hit four girls. (Although they let her back in to pitch in the next inning). It was here that she hit one girl really hard and she was crying all the way to first base. I felt like crying with her, and then I really wanted to cry when I saw that Madisyn was next to bat. Madisyn had already been hit in the inning before. Fortunately she managed to get four balls and got to walk. Madisyn's team ended up winning 6-5 in overtime. Funny thing was not one girl on Madisyn's team actually hit the ball. It was all from walking.

Playing second base with the killer pitcher on base

Hard to tell in the picture, but the little red dots are impressions from the threads on the softball.

By now I would have been terrified of the ball (I have noticed some girls on other teans are and refuse to bat), but Madisyn keeps going out.

Another Madisyn story, she has joined another competition soccer league this year. She said she really wanted to do it, but sometimes it's hard to get her out (after paying the fee though I am not letting her get out of it). Last Saturday they had to meet at the track to run 1-mile to see what kind of shape they are in. They had to be there at 7:45. At 7:30 I was still trying to drag her out of bed. She did not want to go. Even once we made it to the track she didn't want to get out of the van. She finally got out and ran over once I stepped out of the van. I was wondering what kind of attitude she would have while running. Needless to say she ran the mile pretty quick, passing everyone up and finshing before some girls even finished their third laps. I think it gave her some confidence because I didn't hear her complain about it at all after that. The rest of the day I was wishing I had the stamina that she has!
