We have never made plans to go out of town for spring break before. Three months ago we decided to go down to Goblin Valley and Moab for spring break and made reservations ahead of time. Unfortunately due to the weather we had to change our plans and move it to June. Camping in wet freezing temperatures just didn't sound like a whole lot of fun. The kids were disappointed, but we decided we would try and do something fun everyday.Wednesday we went bowling at BYU. Ryan always wins the kids, but this time Tyler beat him by one point. You would never know how excited he was by the look on his face in the picture.
Thursday we went to see "Hotel for Dogs". The line was so long (obviously everyone had the same idea since it was snowing outside) at the dollar theater, that by time we got tickets there were only 11 tickets left and the movie had already started. We ended up on the front row. At least we got to sit together. I never realized how motion sick you can get from sitting on the front row. I guess I was lucky that it wasn't an action show.Friday Daryl took the day off of work. We were going to do something fun, but by time the kids got their jobs done, we still didn't know what "fun" thing er were going to do. It was a bit warmer from the day before so I encouraged the boys to go outside. Tyler wanted to hit golf balls with his friend. Daryl set him up and then went inside to change his clothes. It wasn't long before I saw Ryan on the ground crying. I went outside to see if everything was okay and all I see is Ryan's face all bloody and he is screaming at the top of his lungs. So our "fun" Friday turned in to taking Ryan in for stitches. I am just grateful that Daryl was around. There is a good reason I never went into nursing. I can't handle someone being in pain. Poor Tyler felt awful. He was pretty pale the rest of the day and said his stomach hurt. His friend was the same. We were told that he was found pale and sitting in a state of shock on his own couch. Ryan called to let us know he was feeling much better after getting the numbing gel on. I knew the worst was yet to come, but Daryl told us that Ryan was extremely brave and when it came to getting the stitches didn't even cry. Daryl sent us pictures on his phone to keep us up to date on what was happening.
WARNING.... if you can't handle blood or pain don't look at the 2nd picture. Better yet, I will just make it small, and if you really want to look at it you can click on it to make it larger.

Chelsea and I both have scars in that exact same spot from various and sundry injuries requiring stitches!!! That eyebrow area must be a magnet for danger! Tell him we hope he feels better soon!! Poor little guy!!
Well at least your spring break was memorable.
Please tell me that they stitched it up and didn't glue it?! Do you remember Blake Bastian's experience with a head wound being glued. Stitches, right?
Yes, stitches. I am sure it was too deep to glue.
