* Daryl gone to Israel
*Me getting very little sleep for 9 days.
* Me starting a new project to surprise Daryl and help the week go by faster. I thought I would restain the deck. As I got to reading about it I learned I first needed to strip what little was left of the old stain and then brighten it using a wood brightener. I figured it couldn't be harder then a piano. It's not, but it still takes a lot of elbow grease.
Before pictures

After pictures: still a Work in Progress (half way there!)
*Me coming down with strep and being down for several days.
*Drinking very watered down Apple Juice made by Madisyn because she put in 3 qts. of water instead of 3 cans of water, but say it tastes great anyway because I didn't have to get out of bed and walk down the stairs to make it myself.
*Third grade program (video will be coming if I can get help from Daryl getting it off the video camera)
*Two softball games (a extra surprise this week I wasn't expecting), along with piano at the same time.
*Marking schedules, assigning treats, calling all the boys on the team, tracking down parents of baseball kids at school to find a correct phone# and subbing at practice for Daryl as coach of Tyler's baseball team. One boy looked quite concerned that I was coaching them and wondered when the REAL coach would be back, another kept saying that I was throwing grounders while pitching to him, while another was downright sad when his mom picked him up early (that helped boost my confidence a little).
*Spending two hours mowing the lawn while still not feeling great because I couldn't stand looking at the forest that was growing around my house. I had told Daryl not to worry about the lawn before he left and just concentrate on getting the garden put in.
*Forgetting what it is like to have a 3-year-old, after finding bright red nail polish all over the bathroom floor, on the toilet seat and even inside the toilet, and finding pink make-up in the carpet. Macie (niece) helped remind me that I have forgotten how to watch young children. Even more so she reminded me that I don't know what I have in my bathroom drawers and it is probably time for me to clean them out.
*Missing the time I was supposed to help at Field Day because I was talking to Daryl on Skype.
*Attempting to dress the kids up on a Friday night to go to a reception. Tyler was not about to leave the house in "Fancy clothes" and was putting up a big stink. Compromised with nice shirt and new jeans I bought next year for school (they are the only ones without holes).
*Got an e-mail from BYU Wellness saying that since I was registered for the Wellness program I could take my immediate family to Liberty Land for FREE on Saturday.
*Packed the kids up first thing in the morning and got there right when it opened. A radio station was giving away prizes every 15 minutes including SEVERAL sets of tickets to hear David Archuleta sing the National Anthem at the Real Salt Lake game and then a small concert following the game. They gave me, but not the kids a raffle and then did their first drawing. I started thinking to myself, "something good will actually happen to me this week, because there are hardly any tickets in that box right now. I am going to WIN those tickets." My number was 754. They drew 753 and then 755. They said to come back every 15 minutes for another drawing. Every 15 minutes my chances lessoned because more people started showing up. I started noticing that they were giving raffle tickets to all the kids too, so I had my kids go get one too. Then I noticed that there were two families that both won two sets of David Archuleta tickets. I realized this after 756 was called. That is when I also started thinking that if they had handed raffle tickets to my kids when we first walked in we would have had #'s 755 and 756 and won the two sets. I really have no luck when it comes to winning things that don't require work on my part. The kids had a great time though.

Even Cosmo joined us!

*Following Liberty Land we ran home and quickly got ready for Ashlyn's violin recital.

I think Ashlyn is not looking at me because her teacher's mom is telling me that Ashlyn is Rachel's(her teacher) dad's favorite student because she has so much energy.

*After the VERY long week the kitchen floor has turned into quite the sticky mess. I want to hurry and mop before Daryl gets home, but I think I will leave it so when he walks in he will get stuck and not be able to go anywhere. Then maybe life will be happy again.

What a relief those 9 days have come and gone. Sorry to hear you were sick- I know how miserable strep can be!
