Madisyn

Playing catch-up over the past few months on what Madisyn has been up to. Soccer season took a big chunk of March, April and May. I never got a picture. I didn't want to ruin the camera since it seemed to rain at every game.

In March her class did Macbeth. She was one of the witches. She changed before I get get a picture of her in her costume. It was hard to hear her voice and I was thinking she was just being quiet, but her voice was like that for several days and then got really sick with bronchitis. It took several weeks to recover fully. Not a great way to spend spring break.
Had her final orchestra concert.
Had a mother/daughter activity for Young Women's where she had to dress me up and then do commentary on me for a fashion show.

Went on a 13 mile hike from Utah Lake to Bridal Veil Falls. Of course it was rainy and cold, but she had fun anyway.Participated in Hershey track and took 4th place in the 200 meter. She didn't want to even go that morning. I think she listens to her friends complain about it too much and so she doesn't want to go either. Very frustrating as a parent when you know it is something they are good at. I wasn't going to let her get away with it though. She still had a fun time with friends. After the events she told me to go home because it wasn't worth waiting around for the results because she knew she didn't place. A neighbor thought she saw Madisyn's name on the list when she walked over to the booth, so I stuck around without her knowing so when they did call her name I could be ready for a picture. She was definitely happy after that and I didn't hear anymore complaining about Hershey track.

She finished her first Young Woman project. She wanted to make a blanket for the baby. She picked out the fabric, cut it, and then sewed it with a bit of help since she was learning. We ended up making matching burp cloths after.
The 6th grade did a storytelling festival. Madisyn played several parts in it. I had to come back the 2nd day to take pictures because I missed who she was at the beginning. I passed her class several times in the hall and was wondering why she wasn't sitting with them. Unbeknown to me she was dressed as a bird and never said a word to me the several times I passed. So I completely missed getting a picture of her in the bird costume before she changed into another costume.Sold snow-cones again for mini-society. Unfortunately the ice shaver died around 12:30 so shop had to close a little earlier then expected. She finished the 6th grade and is now officially a 7th grader. She was a bit sad after she got home from school on the last day. She really loved 6th grade and was sad to see it end.
