The rest of my month was spent doing this.
All in all I think I ended up with a total of 72 bottles of peaches, 14 bottles of peach pie filling, 12 bottles of apple pie filling and 4 pints of chili sauce (our tomatoes were pretty pathetic this year). In a million years I never would have imagined that I could fill all the jars I had in my basement. Thank you Gina for the supply of peaches and apples and the use of your kitchen.
I also spent a week taking care of this sick child:
Ryan was sick with a high fever (102-103-104) for five days. The first 4 days he was so polite whenever I said I would do something for him. Always telling me "thanks". On the 5th day all of his pent up anger came out. He would scream at me to wipe his nose and hold the sippy cup in his mouth because his arms were too tired. He was in and out of sleep most of the afternoon. This picture was taken after he fell asleep at the table. I didn't dare move him for fear he would start yelling again. Fortunately no one else in the family got it.
Ryan was still pretty tired for several days after. On Saturday Daryl was outside working and Ryan was playing in the mud. Ryan was so tired he fell asleep in the driveway with his hands and feet caked in mud. Daryl managed to hose him down and he slept through the whole thing.

Wow Amy! I am so impressed with your canning abilities!! Is there any way I could come and help you next year and take notes? I would love to learn how to can peaches and chili sauce! I hope things calm down more for you.
I think peaches and apples in exchange for canning lessons was the best deal I've made in a long time! Thanks for all your help. I love going into my storage rooms and seeing all of my beautiful bottles lined up on my shelves. They are almost too pretty too eat- almost being the key word :)
I agree with you on life getting busier after school starting. Same thing here. It just doesn't add up.
Poor Ryan and you! Glad he's better now.
