We started Monday morning by playing tennis again (Tyler, Ryan and me). We had to drive to another location this time because they were setting up for the carnival at the tennis court by us. Ryan was excited though because the tennis court we went to was by the skate park so he brought his scooter to ride around.
Wednesday evening Tyler got to go to a farm for scouts where they collected eggs. He was so excited about his "farm fresh" eggs. The carnival opened so we (Madisyn, Ryan, Dylan and me) walked over and joined the crowds and crowds of people. Ashlyn was already there with a friend.
Thursday Tyler turned 10. During the day we went to Funfinity to choose some presents. We spent a long time there while the kids played with all of the toys. In the evening we went to Trafalga for miniature golf and laser tag. Daryl gave Tyler a card with $3 worth of tokens. You would think he was given a million dollars.
Friday we went to This is the Place Monument with cousins. It was a free day, so most of the state of Utah was there. The kids learned how the pioneers did things:
They washed clothes
and hung them out to dry
They beat rugs
Ashlyn's was extra dirty.
They went to school
and even got a shave at the barber shop
Saturday morning we headed to the balloon festival. Only two kids could get out of bed.
It was perfect weather this year so the balloons were actually able to launch.
On the way home it looked like some of the balloons were over our house. They landed in some interesting places, like the corner of the church parking and the culdesac right by us. We chased one down the street and they waved at Ryan in his pajamas.
In the afternoon Daryl worked on the flagstone path on the side of the house. Something I've wanted to do for years, but seemed pointless without a sprinkling system.
The kids built a huge water slide in the backyard and Dylan had a fun time watching.
That evening we had a yummy steak dinner. I walked over the carnival again with Madisyn and Tyler so they could use their tickets up. And then we ended the night watching fireworks from the front yard.
