We had the wonderful opportunity to spend the last week of January with friends on the island of St. Thomas, in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It was so nice to to get away from the cold and enjoy a little bit of sunshine. We actually left the day before. After landing in Atlanta we spent the night in a hotel (I was glad for this little break since turbulence was bad the last hour and I had the nice little white bag conveniently close by in case it was needed, which fortunately it wasn't) until the last leg of our flight left the next morning at 10 a.m. We arrived in St. Thomas at about 2:30. I love airports where you get to walk right off the plane and into the fresh air. Especially that fresh air with a bit of humidity and 80 degree temps. After driving on the skinniest, twisty road and on the wrong side of the road (wrong to me since it was on the left) , we made it to the house we were staying at. By time we got there we didn't have too much daylight left, but Daryl and I took a little walk around near the house.
The view from our room

It was so nice to see live plants again!
