We had lunch at a little restaurant call D'Amichi. This was the highlight of the day for Daryl. He couldn't stop talking about the Mediterranean Pizza we ordered. He loved it so much we went back before the week was up to eat the same meal.
Something interesting about these downtown shops. At 3:30/4:00 they all start closing up. Because the cruise ships give them the big business, they close shop when it's time for people to head back to their ships. That night we headed to a restaurant close by the the house we were staying in. I really wish we would have had our camera with us. Daryl and I ordered a salad and chicken meal to share. Not long after ordering the waiter came by with this tiny little plate with a thinly sliced pear and crumbled cheese on it. My first though was "this is the $15 salad?". Needless to say everyone got a good laugh at this unexpected "appetizer" from the chef. Daryl and I shared a delicious meal, and we made a great meal for the mosquitoes. I was too full to order dessert so I passed. I wished I could have had my camera when the $15 deserts came out though. The cake looked like a 2x2 sized brownie, the caramel sauce was a thinly drizzled line on the plate and the ice cream that came with it was probably smaller then the ice cream found on the freebie cones they hand out at Arctic Circle. My after thought was that yes, I probably would have had room for that size of dessert, but if I had eaten the $15 cash it would have filled me up more. Definitely a good laugh though, and I realized I guess I know nothing about fine cuisine.
