Falcon League Champs!

Last night was Madisyn's last softball game. I came at the beginning and and after a while noticed that there was a lot of tension (definitely not for the kids, just the parents). One parent on the other team was giving a hard time to the poor ump who probably wasn't older than 14. (That always makes me so mad, these games are just for fun right?) So, when it came time to leave for Ashlyn's game I opted to take her, so I could take some pictures of her last game, and leave Daryl in the midst of the tension. When I left the score was still 0-0.

Here is Ashlyn at her game. It is coach pitch and so laid back. They don't count outs and all of the kids get a chance to bat at every inning. This was her first year and she loved it. She was getting good at hitting the first ball pitched to her.

So we waited for Daryl, Madisyn and Tyler to show up, but they didn't until we were pulling out of the parking lot. I could see Madisyn holding a trophy in the back and I figured all the kids must get that at the last game. When we got home she was so excited to show me her first place trophy. I was shocked that they even ended up winning the game. Daryl told me that Madisyn hit the ball that sent the runner in third to home, which won the game. Madisyn hasn't had a ton of hits this season (then again, not many of the girls have) so this was pretty miraculous. Even more miraculous is that she hit it right to first base, but the first baseman could not seem to pick up the ball. Her team is the Angels. She was joking with me the other day that they were the Angels in the outfield. Maybe she wasn't joking after all.
So it ended up being an exciting game and of course I missed it, and of course I had the camera so I missed shots of the ceremony they did following the game when they received their trophy's. The coach bought all of the kids sno-cones after the game and Madisyn was so excited because he bought her, the pitcher and the girl that made it home 2 sno-cones! Now the team gets to move onto the state championships which means we get to pack up all the kids and head to Ephraim! Way to go Mad!
