We crossed the border into Jordan so we could visit Petra. If you are not familiar with Petra, it is shown in the 3rd Indiana Jones movie. To get to the buildings carved out of rock you must travel through slot canyons which are all paved in a cobblestone like path. It was definitely an amazing walk and the cliffs gave great shade in the 90+ temperature.
Along our drive we passed many Bedouin tents. I was surprised to see at least 1 car or truck by each group of tents we passed. I think they are a bit more civilized then I realized.
That evening we headed back to out hotel in Eilat for another wonderful buffet. We also had a room reserved so we could have sacrament meeting. I wish this place was closer because I would love to take my whole family.
