Holy Land Tour Day 14

Daryl took a walk with some of the family at 6 am through the Old City of Jerusalem before all of the crowds showed up.We spent some time at the wailing wall.
Then walked over to the other side (the Muslim side) to see the Temple Mount. Daryl looks a little funny because men and women were not allowed to touch or show any affection, and there was someone there to make sure you didn't.

We then went over to the Church of the Holy Sepluchre. This is where many churches believe Christ was crucified and buried. It was very dark. Daryl's dad told us to notice what kind of a feeling we had here compared to our feelings when we would visit where we believe Jesus was crucified and buried. I spent a lot of time just watching people make there pilgrimage to the stone where they believe Jesus' body was laid and watching them kiss it. Daryl spent time taking pictures of all the people lighting candles.
Last was Hezekiah's tunnel. Most of out trip the temperature was in the high 80's and 90's. Our first day in Jerusalem was rainy and quite cold. No one came prepared for the temp's that day. So the thought of visiting Hezekiah's tunnel wasn't very appealing. Daryl had been so excited about this for the whole trip and couldn't wait fro me to experience it. It was a tunnel built sometime around 701 BC while King Hezekiah reigned. It is about 3/4 of a mile long filled with water, the beginning of the tunnel having water reach to your thigh. This picture depicts where the water would hit you depending on your height.
At this point we were still making our way down to the entrance of the tunnel, before I knew what I was getting into. I still have a smile on my face.

At this point it was right before I entered the tunnel and I read the first sign that said that those that are claustrophobic and pregnant shouldn't participate. Why was this sign not at the top before walking all the way down to the tunnel and the only way out is to pass everyone coming down the stairs?
This was taken after walking through the thigh high water. As soon as I hit the water I had a nice contraction. Good reason why pregnant ladies shouldn't participate. I am also realizing I am now trapped and the only way out is to go forward. And I would run if I could, but I am behind a line of people.
This is the last picture Daryl was able to get of me before I left him in the dust. It was also the scariest 25 minutes of my life. My mind just kept getting away with me with fears of earthquakes, or people getting stuck ahead of me and getting trapped (at times you had to duct down to walk and there was only a few inches of space between my body and the wall), and wanting to cry, but afraid if I did I would start hyperventilating. Daryl feels lucky that I am still willing to talk to him. He also now realizes that I don't like feeling trapped in small spaces.
