These two days were spent traveling. It took about 24 hours to get to Cairo, Egypt with checking in, flying and layovers. Our flight from New York to Cairo started a little adventurous. When Daryl’s ticket got scanned it showed he didn’t have a seat. I guess when Daryl’s dad went to change his seat after arriving in New York the airlines messed up and used Daryl’s name instead, canceling Daryl’s seat and giving it to someone else. The person they gave it to had a small child traveling on their lap and needed the window seat to keep the child from running off down the aisles. After several moves by single travelers they finally got Daryl and I together. I somehow ended up in the middle of the flight, after working hard weeks before to make sure I had an aisle seat. It was truly the longest 11 hours of my life, not being able to sleep more than 2 hours. Daryl on the other hand slept for 6 hours, trapping me in my seat. After 2 hours of waiting to use the bathroom I finally gave up waiting for him to wake and climbed over him. I was trying to be nice and not wake him up. It didn’t seem to matter and I did it later on too. I am already dreading the flight back. I will be forever grateful for the compression socks I bought that kept my legs from swelling up. After arriving in Cairo, we collected our stuff and headed to our hotel. We stayed at a great hotel. It almost reminded me of Vegas without the Casinos. The food at the buffet was great, but it was really hard looking at the fresh fruit as we couldn’t eat it, because it could make us sick.
I really don't have many pictures of these days, but the ones I am trying to upload are taking to long. I don't have photoshop to help me make them smaller. Maybe I will eventually figure this out.
